About Max
Max Forsyth founded Comms Search & Selection in April 2023, driven by his grandparents’ entrepreneurial spirit and a firm belief that the in-house communications and investor relations industry deserves better from recruiters. His mission is to redefine excellence in executive search, setting a new standard for recruitment across the UK and US.
With over a decade of experience, Max leads senior, retained searches for clients across financial and professional services in the UK and US, while overseeing the day-to-day running of the business.
His career began far from recruitment, initially training as a sports journalist and writing for outlets such as Al Jazeera and Rugby World before pivoting into the corporate sphere. After a stint in e-learning, Max found his way into executive search and quickly carved out a niche in senior communications and investor relations recruitment with EMR. He built a strong network of clients and candidates, honing his ability to align senior talent with business-critical roles.
Max’s core expertise lies in hiring at director, head of, VP and SVP levels across corporate communications, internal comms, public relations, investor relations and corporate affairs. Known for his strategic thinking and journalist’s eye for detail, he combines people-first instincts with a sharp understanding of what businesses need to grow and thrive.
Throughout his career, Max has led high-profile retained searches for FTSE 250 and Fortune 500 firms placing several senior leaders who have reshaped corporate narratives and reputations. He also developed and hosts the Comms Coffee Club podcast, a platform for senior comms professionals to share industry insights and discuss emerging trends.
Guided by the values of excellence, knowledge and partnership, Max sets a high bar for the industry. His approach is rooted in long-term thinking, transparency and a genuine commitment to helping clients and candidates succeed.
Outside work, Max is a proud husband and dad to two young sons, Hugo and Oscar. He stays active with regular HIIT workouts and padel sessions and is a lifelong England rugby fan, with a dream of one day securing a box at Twickenham.
