Are you a New York-based, collaborative PR and Media Relations professional with at least 10 years' experience in-house for global professional or financial services firms?
Do you have a track record of advising senior executives, shaping firm-wide visibility, and building strong media relationships across U.S. business and industry press such as PEI Media, Law.com publications, Bloomberg and the FT?
If so, this could be your next big opportunity: a senior public relations role with a global law firm, leading U.S. PR and media strategy from New York.
Comms Search is once again supporting a leading, global law firm that’s looking for a senior communications professional to join its high-performing team in New York City. This is a senior manager-level opportunity to lead PR and media engagement across the U.S. and play a visible role in shaping the firm’s reputation and market profile.
You’ll take ownership of U.S. media strategy, building on the firm’s strong track record and working closely with global colleagues. From setting the agenda with national, business, and industry press to developing messaging frameworks for major announcements, you’ll be at the heart of the firm’s visibility and reputation efforts.
Key responsibilities of the Senior PR & Media Relations Manager include:
Designing and executing PR campaigns that raise the profile of the firm and its multi-disciplinary practices.
Building and strengthening relationships with tier-one print, broadcast, digital and new media, securing impactful coverage.
Providing trusted counsel and media coaching to senior executives and partners.
Overseeing external PR agency relationships.
Managing and mentoring several ambitious, accomplished communications team members, ensuring high-quality delivery.
Advising on reputational risks and managing sensitive issues with sound judgment.
We’re keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
Significant in-house PR and media relations experience in a complex, global environment. Experience in a major law firm is valuable, but backgrounds in large private capital, investment management, tier one consulting, or Big Four firms are equally relevant.
A strong record of advising and supporting C-Suite leaders and senior stakeholders with clear, strategic PR and media counsel.
A robust media network across U.S. business, financial, and trade press.
Confidence in translating complex subject matter into compelling, accessible stories.
Tech-savvy communications skills – ideally with experience adopting new tools (including AI-driven platforms) to boost efficiency and effectiveness.
Leadership skills with a collaborative, hands-on approach to managing and mentoring team members.
Why Apply?
Join a globally respected firm with ambitious innovation plans.
Work alongside a collaborative and personable team – we know them well, having placed a successful hire already.
Benefit from a competitive compensation package, including excellent health and wellness benefits.
Gain exposure at the highest level, working directly with senior leadership and global communications colleagues.
If you’re an experienced PR and media professional looking for your next move, we’d love to hear from you.
